“Good habits formed at youth make all the difference”
–Aristotle

TEC stands for "Tune, Engage, and Celebrate", while "Us" refers to parent and child. TEC-and-Us is the first-ever generational habit application. It supports habit-building for children through the promotion of parent-child engagement. TEC-and-Us is under development in Seattle.

A personal note from the founder...

TEC-and-Us evolved from a process I used to encourage good habits in my own children. As a healthcare worker during the COVID pandemic, I needed to go to work while both children stayed at home with my husband, who worked long hours remotely. To maintain everyone’s sanity, I sought input from my children and created a system that helps them self-regulate and stay engaged with daily activities. Over time, it evolved into a system that helps them build good habits—physically, mentally, and financially—while promoting family conversations and engagement.

In 2023, while working full-time, I started my journey of being a student at the University of Washington Foster School of Business. This would not be possible without my family's support. The biggest support my children give me is: being wonderful little human beings who are engaged in their growth and learning.  As I see the habit-building system continuing to help our family, I wonder if it could become a product that helps other families. In 2024, I decided this initiative would be my graduation project: the TEC-and-Us application. I am interviewing parents and educators, and through ongoing iterations, incorporating the rich feedback into the design and construction of the App.
